Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Recipe Mise LLC ("Recipe Mise," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Mise mobile application, the recipemise.com website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who Can Use Mise

You must be at least 13 years old to use Mise. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Mise with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up and to keep it up to date.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for your account and for activity that happens under it. Keep your password confidential, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a risk to other users or to the Service.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Free, Trial, and Premium Tiers

Mise offers a free tier and one or more paid subscription tiers (each, a "Subscription"). Features available at each tier, and any usage allowances tied to AI-powered features, are described in the app at the time you subscribe.

Auto-Renewal

Paid Subscriptions are billed and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date through your Apple or Google account. Your subscription payment account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Free Trials

If a free trial is offered, you may use Premium features for the trial period at no charge. The trial converts to a paid Subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends. You can cancel at any time from your Apple or Google subscription settings.

Cancellation and Refunds

You can cancel a Subscription at any time through your Apple or Google account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to Premium features until then. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google according to their policies; Recipe Mise does not directly process refunds for Subscriptions purchased through those platforms.

AI Usage Allowances

Premium and trial users receive a monthly allowance of AI-powered operations (such as recipe generation, hands-free prep guidance, and meal-plan analysis). The number of operations you can perform in a billing period depends on the per-feature token cost in effect at that time. Because those underlying AI services have variable cost and capability, we may adjust per-feature allowances over time as costs change. Adjustments do not change the price of your Subscription.

Price Changes

We may change Subscription prices for future billing periods. When we do, we will notify you through the app or by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel your Subscription before it takes effect.

4. AI Features and Generated Content

Mise uses artificial intelligence to help you create recipes, plan meals, identify ingredients, and guide cooking. AI-generated content (including recipes, prep schedules, and cooking instructions) is provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors, omissions, or unsafe suggestions.

You are responsible for evaluating any AI-generated content before relying on it. In particular:

• Confirm that ingredients are safe for you and your household (allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, medications).
• Use safe food-handling practices, including proper internal temperatures and storage.
• Verify cooking instructions against trusted sources before serving food to vulnerable people (young children, pregnant people, immunocompromised individuals, and the elderly).
• Treat any nutrition or dietary information as an estimate, not medical advice.

Recipe Mise is not a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or food-safety advice.

5. Your Content

You retain all rights to recipes, photos, notes, cookbooks, and other content you create or upload in Mise ("Your Content"). By using the Service you grant Recipe Mise a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you, including by sending portions of Your Content to third-party AI providers under contractual protections (as described in our Privacy Policy).

If you choose to publish a recipe to the public Mise catalog or share it with another user, you grant Recipe Mise and those recipients an additional license to access and use that shared content for its intended purpose within the Service.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to upload Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or violate any law.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates law, infringes anyone's rights, or harms others.
• Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise try to extract source code or AI prompts from the Service, except as expressly permitted by law.
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service without our written permission.
• Use the Service to build a competing product or to train machine-learning models.
• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service or AI-generated content beyond the rights expressly granted in these Terms.
• Interfere with the security or operation of the Service, including by overwhelming it with traffic or by probing for vulnerabilities.

Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content and Abusive Users

Mise has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Content you publish to the public Mise catalog or share with other users must comply with the Acceptable Use rules above. You can report objectionable content using the report option on any recipe, and you can block another user so that you no longer see their content. We review reports and will remove offending content and may suspend or terminate the accounts of users who post it — typically within 24 hours of becoming aware of a valid report. By using community features, you agree to these rules.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding (Mise name, paprika logo, and visual style), text, and curated catalog content, is owned by Recipe Mise LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Except for the rights expressly granted in these Terms, no license or other right is granted to you.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services, including Apple, Google, AI providers, and payment processors. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Recipe Mise is not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party services.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app or at /account/delete. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or that your continued use poses a risk to other users, to us, or to the Service. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recipe Mise disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that the Service or any AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, safe, reliable, or suitable for your needs.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recipe Mise and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total cumulative liability for any and all claims arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Recipe Mise for the Service in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Recipe Mise and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) Your Content, or (c) your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. If you reside in a jurisdiction that grants you mandatory consumer-protection rights, nothing in this section limits those rights.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means and update the "Effective date" above. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and cancel any Subscription.

15. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Recipe Mise regarding the Service. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
